Action Packed Residential Trips for Secondary Schools and Colleges
We aim to deliver an adrenaline fuelled residential trip that will give the young people an experience of a life time. For you, the teacher, we aim to match your educational and developmental aims within a budget that offers great value for money. Testament to this is the amount of repeat bookings we now receive, with most schools booking their programme for the following year before they leave us.
We can provide one, two, three and four night residentials for young people from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5. We also have a large range of day time and evening activities available that ensure the young people are kept active, engaged and entertained morning, noon and night. One of the unique things we can offer at the Ultimate Adventure Centre is our accommodation; the Atlantic Lodges offer unique and innovative bunkbeds that are always a hit with the young people.
Don’t just take our word for it
A major aspect of a residential at the Ultimate Adventure Centre is our level of provision. It’s not just about the activities, you will have a residential manager who is available to help and support you throughout your trip. Our residentials are a comprehensive experience including activities throughout the day and evening, meals and accommodation. We take advantage of our local environment with activities taking place on our site and the South West Coastal Path, the Blue Flag Beach at Westward Ho!, the Tarka Trail, the Torridge Estuary and the world renowned coast line at Baggy Point, Croyde.
We carry out an extensive review process after each residential trip to gain valuable feedback; this allows us to ensure continuous improvement and be even better for the following year. You don’t have to take our word for it, below is a comment from a recent Year 10 residential;
Wanted to say a massive ‘Thank you’ to all the staff at The Ultimate Adventure Centre for a great week. The children (and staff) experienced 5 days of high adrenaline activities, mountain boarding, surfing, coasteering, high ropes / zip wire and much more. The centre is in a stunning location and many evenings were spent on the beach – the group of thirteen year olds, were kept busy from 8am till 10pm. They loved staying in the lodges and thought the bunk beds were cool. Many parents commented that their children had not stopped talking about the trip since they have been back – ‘They had an amazing time.’
From a teacher’s point of view the staff at the centre were very efficient and helpful from the initial enquiry. The instructors pitched clearly and confidently at the right level for the children, leaving you with no uncertainty that they were in the safest possible hands. I cannot recommend them highly enough. We have already booked for next year.

A Great Location for a Field Trip
One of the key things that makes the Ultimate Adventure Centre truly unique is our location. Our location on the edge of Bideford allows you to take advantage of the large variety of coastline that North Devon has to offer. We are only 2 miles from the Blue Flag beach at Westward Ho! a short walk from the South West Coastal Path, and the world renowned Croyde beach is only a short drive away.
Many schools have used the Ultimate Adventure Centre as a base for their Geography, History Field Studies Residential. This has allowed the school easy access to the outstanding coastline North Devon has to offer, but also to get in some rewarding and challenging activities at the same time.Learn More
