It All Starts at YES at the Ultimate Adventure Centre
The Ultimate Adventure Centre has been very privileged to work with many National Citizen Service (NCS) groups. We have provided many different activity days for groups from across the South West, however our main involvement has been providing the Phase 1 residential in the Spring, Summer and Autumn.
We understand the NCS program and have tailored the activities, leadership and accommodation we offer to meet the needs of many NCS groups. Teamwork, Personal Development and the opportunity for young people to work outside of their normal limits are all part of what we can offer. Our North Devon location has been a massive draw for many of the groups that have visited us, meaning that sign up rates have been high, and drop out rates low, making your job a little bit easier.
Adventure Starts at YES
Adventure is in our name and it’s what we are all about. We can provide challenging activities on our site and across North Devon including the Ultimate Assault, Awesome 4 Some (High Ropes), Laser Tag, Mountain Boarding, Surfing and Coasteering. In addition to the wide range of physically challenging activities we also regularly include Team Dynamic Games that focus on teamwork, leadership, communication and are mentally demanding.
To offer a more ‘back to basic’ outdoor learning environment we have also developed an overnight Wilderness Camp. This experience has also included hikes, orienteering and mountain biking culminating in an overnight woodland camp. Taking the young people out of their natural environments and their comfort zones has enhanced their learning and helped to create unforgettable memories.

Custom Made Facilities in North Devon
We have been working with NCS groups for many years and during this time our centre and the activities we provide have grown considerably. North Devon is a quiet and beautiful location, that’s still in easy reach for groups from across the South West and beyond; we’re an hours drive from the M5 at Tiverton and approximately 2 hours from Bristol. The majority of your experience will take part on our site, with additional activities taking place at Westward Ho!, Croyde and on the Tarka Trail.
One of the unique things we can offer at the Ultimate Adventure Centre is our accommodation; the Atlantic Lodges offer unique and innovative bunkbeds that are always a hit with the young people. Our large Cafe can comfortably seat 80 people and is used for breakfast, lunch and evening meals, we have a selection of meal choices available and can cater for and special dietary needs. We carry out a review process with all the groups that stay with us and have had some great feedback, such as the comment from one of our repeat NCS providers blow.
As an NCS organisation we have been working with the Ultimate Adventure Centre for 3 years and each year the service they deliver gets better and better. The accommodation suits our needs perfectly and coupled with the excellent food provided, it is an ideal location to take a large group (We have taken groups of 120). During activities the instructors fully interact with the groups participating, creating a fun and enjoyable experience, yet the children safety is always of paramount importance.
