The Ultimate Adventure Centre offers the most comprehensive range of outdoor activities available throughout North Devon. Come and enjoy an action-packed day out at our site situated close to Bideford. We can cater for groups of virtually any size with a range of high-impact activities.
Adventure is at the heart of the activities we provide for young people of all ages. We work with the school or college to design an activity program that focusses on the desired educational and developmental aims. All of our activities are great for an end or term trip or as a reward, but can all be adapted to focus on communication, leadership, and teamwork as required. The young people will have the opportunity to push themselves and their own boundaries whilst participating alongside their peers. Activities on offer for Key Stages 3 and 4 include The Ultimate Assault, Awesome 4 Some (High Ropes), Laser Tag, Mountain Boarding, Surfing and Coasteering.
A Full Day of Adventure
Our schools co-ordintor will work with you to create an activity day to match your educational and development aims and importantly your budget. The activities that we have an offer can be tailored towards the needs of your group and the ages of the young people.
We normally provide a 2hr session in the morning, followed by a break for lunch and then another 2hr session in the afternoon. We feel it is important to keep the young people engaged at all times, so each activity is tailored towards the ages and needs of the group.
The centre is open throughout the year. If you’re looking to book an activity day in the Autumn, Spring or the first Summer half term we are able to offer discounted packages, to lighten the financial load.

We strive to make sure that the children leave us with many happy memories of the day and a desire to learn and develop in the outdoors. Our outdoor programmes try to develop a ‘no limits’ approach to learning, no curbing of curiosity and no ceiling to success. At The Ultimate Adventure, we aim to promote the importance of teamwork, communication and friendship through a range of challenging activities.
We carry out an extensive review process with each of the schools that visit to measure their experiences and gain valuable feedback; this allows us to ensure continuous improvement and be even better for the following year. We can see the Awesome 4Some course from our school so we look forward all year to our annual summer visits. The range of activities is great and each one is brilliant, not just for our students but also for staff! The perfect blend of challenge, excitement and adrenaline! My personal favourite is the Ultimate Assault course which, despite doing two days on the trot every year, never gets boring! As well as the great activities, the staff are also brilliant to work with and the site is lovely to be at.
