Action Packed KS2 Residential Trips
A residential experience for children in Key Stage 2 is often the first time the children will stay away from home; one that will create memories that will last forever. When we are designing residential programs we aim to deliver a package that is exhilarating and will give the children an experience of a life time. For you, the teacher, we aim to match your educational and developmental aims within a budget that offers great value for money!
We can provide one, two, three and four night residentials for children in Key Stage 2, with a large range of day time and evening activities available. We aim to keep the children active, engaged and entertained morning, noon and night. One of the unique things we can offer at the Ultimate Adventure Centre is our accommodation; the Atlantic Lodges offer unique and innovative bunkbeds that are always a hit with the children.
Transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3
The transition from primary school to secondary school is often quite a daunting step for the children. This is compounded in rural areas such as North Devon where a Year 7 intake is often made up of children from a large numbers of smaller schools and localities. We are now working with primary and secondary schools to provide Transition Camps that aim to bridge the gap for the children and to prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead.
We have developed Transition Camp programs that include acitivies on our site and at locations such as the Blue Flag beach at Westward Ho! This experience is far from a ‘standard’ residential; it still offers adrenaline packed activities but has building relationships, teamwork and communication at it’s heart.
Don’t just take our word for it
A major aspect of a residential at the Ultimate Adventure Centre is our level of provision. It’s not just about the activities, you will have a residential manager who is available to you throughout your stay. Our residentials are a comprehensive experience including activities throughout the day and evening, meals and accommodation. We take advantage of our local environment with activities taking place on our site and along the South West Coastal Path, the Blue Flag Beach at Westward Ho!, the Tarka Trail, the Torridge Estuary and the world renowned coast line at Baggy Point, Croyde.
We carry out an extensive review process after each residential trip to gain valuable feedback; this allows us to ensure continuous improvement and be even better for the following year. You don’t have to take our word for it, below is a comment from a recent Year 4 residential;
We wanted to say a huge thank you for the hard work you put into our excellent three day residential. The children had such a great time, they were challenged and felt very proud of themselves. They also thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation and the site in general, as they were safe to run around and have some freedom. They loved the cafe space and the firepit.
The instructors made the experience special as the three of them were a great mix of personalities and all of them got the best out of the children through strong guidance, patience and fun.
Thank you once again. – Heide Theobald, St Helens C of E Primary School, Abbotsham
